State Championships and JV State

The State Championships will be held on Wednesday this week at Sugarhouse Park

The State Championships are next Wednesday with 6A Boys racing at 2:30pm and 6A Girls racing at 3:15pm at Sugarhouse Park.  State Info

The bus will leave the HS at 12:45 p.m.. Coach Barnes will cover entrance fees for those who have been running and coming to practice regularly and who are able to come. Remember, that the priority is to come and support our competing varsity runners, not just to socialize.  Please come ready to cheer and wear your Sentinel gear.  It looks like nice Fall weather, but dress appropriately.  If you are wanting to come, please let Coach Barnes know at practice Monday or by Tuesday morning.

Spectator info for State will be posted at the bottom of this post.

We will have a team dinner on Tuesday at 5:30pm for State participants and JV runners at The Cove Pond pavilion (6979 W Rose Canyon Road), hosted by multiple parents and families.  Please dress warm.

There is a JV State Championship that is being held on Saturday November 1 at the Spanish Fork Sports Complex.  If those  alternates and others who have been training would like to run at this let Coach Barnes know by Tuesday, if you haven't already, so he can get registration and entry fees taken care of.  We will not be taking a bus, so transportation is on your own.

"Assistance to Competitors
Coaches, please educate the members of your team, their parents and others that will come to support your student athletes that per rule 9-7-4 it is a disqualification for a competitor who receives any assistance from another person. The most common form of the violation of this rule is when a non-competitor runs along side a competitor during the race (pacing). This has been a problem in the past. It would be unfortunate to have to
disqualify a runner for the actions of someone not in the race. Please help by informing those who will be there to support your team. Also, any runner who assists another runner will also be disqualified."
