Overnight Travel

XC Camp will be at Wasatch Academy again this year August 4-6, 2025.  Cost will be $220 if we have around 35 athletes attend. Cost will include transportation, Dorm housing, all meals, activities, and a camp t-shirt.  We will need some solid commitments several weeks before camp, because we will need to reserve and purchase T-shirts, a Bus, Dorm Rooms, and District Insurance.  Once you have committed to camp, if something happens and you are not able to attend, you will need to get someone to take your spot or you will be charged a partial fee of $50-$110 (depending on what is refunded to the school).  Once we pay for certain things and figure in that money to the cost, it cannot be refunded.  
Ultimately we would like the entire team to attend camp, and might make it mandatory in the future.  Camp is a great opportunity to spend 3 days with the team, get some great training, build better relationships, have more 1 on 1 time with coaches, and learn skills that can help you be a better athlete.  We also do a lot of cool runs and have a a lot of fun.  We encourage everyone to make camp a priority!
Camp Paperwork will include a notarized Medical Form with copy of Insurance Card, and a Parent Approval Form.  These forms should be given to Coach Barnes no later than July 28.
 


2023 Foot Locker/Hoka

If you are planning on attending Foot Locker /Hoka Western Regionals you will need to continue to train on a regular basis after State. The coaches will be at practice to do workouts at least 3 times a week and these would be good days to set aside time to be there, especially since the coaches will be there on their own time.  All other miles could be done on your own and should be logged on your Strava account.  These practices will start after State and fall break.

Western Regionals this year will be November 30-December 3. Spots will be filled by varsity athletes and then JV athletes on a first come first serve basis.  You can start paying for the trip by paying into the XC club account in the main office once we know we are approved to go and have costs set.  At this time we need the $415 or estimated cost.  The theme park fee will need to be paid by the set date, but this is after we know who is going and have voted on which park to go to.  Since we are going on our own this year we will need a solid count and need to fill the bus completely to keep costs down as much as possible. We will do our best to refund an athlete that might not be able to go for some unseen reason, but will need to fill that spot in order to do so.  In the past we have kept at least the cost per athlete for the bus and hotel rooms if someone is not found to fill the absent spot within 40 days of the trip.
The cost is as follows:  The total of  $415 (Bus, Hotel, JSD Required Insurance) + theme park fee $60  so a total of $475. + $105 for food (that will be given back to each kid before we leave in petty cash).  $580 will need to be paid into the Cross Country account in the Main Office or on Skyward and the receipt given to Coach Barnes.  Please get the $580 paid by Thursday November 16th.
The district wants us to charge for food based on a new policy from district administration, but since we won't have meals together other than breakfast at the hotel we have to charge $15 a meal and will give it back to the athletes via pretty cash. 

Once you have committed to go with a hard yes or a yes, but I need to figure out how to raise funds, you have committed.  Once we are past State we have paid for the bus and hotel rooms, and sometimes even the JSD insurance for each person, and we usually cannot change or cancel within 30-40 days of leaving.  If you cancel after this time, you will be responsible for either finding a replacement or pay part of all of the cost.  Everyone's cost is dependent on the number of people we have going. If this situation occurs you will need to talk to Coach Barnes and see what can be done.

You will need to register for the race yourself.  Register for your age group race.  This will need to be done before November 16 or the price goes up to $40 from $30, and group registration ends.  Race Registration can be done HERE.  We recommend registering ASAP for your age group race, unless you are a top varsity that could place well in the elite Championship race.  Foot Locker Permission Form HERE

Students will be excused from school Thursday and Friday, but will need to be responsible and take care of absent work.
