October 20-25

Region Championships were a little rough for us this year as a whole, we have a lot of room for improvement, and we hope to see those who didn't perform as well bounce back in the future and rededicate themselves to working hard and competing hard.  We did have Brooklyn Tarr (9th) place in the varsity girls race, Brielle Leavitt was 7th in the JV Girls race, and Noah Knight was 9th in the JV boys race.  The Girl's team ended up 4th place and the Boy's were 5th, and both JV teams were 3rd.  We did see some improvements across the team from the start of the season, with our younger athletes making the biggest jumps. We hope to see our athletes having a desire to improve, not settle for being mediocre, and wanting to chase the Region Championship and even bigger goals next year.

The State Championships are next Wednesday with 6A Boys racing at 2:30pm and 6A Girls racing at 3:15pm at Sugarhouse Park.  State Info

We know it is Fall Break for Jordan District and lots of families are leaving town, but here is another reminder that we still have practice (especially for our top 9 girls and 9 boys).  The rest of the State does not care about Jordan District's Fall Break and these teams are training and preparing for State next week.   

Thanks to Coach Peterson and his wife, and the Bracken, Patterson, Leavitt, and Watson families for hosting our dinner last week.  Thanks to the parents who brought after race treats for the athletes on Wednesday at the Region Championships! And we especially thank those who came to support and cheer on the athletes at Region!  

We would highly encourage JV athletes to compete at JV State in Spanish Fork next week Saturday.  More info to follow.
