We had a great group of young athletes out our first week of XC! We saw a lot of good effort all around and especially on the part of our rookies! Let's stick with it and keep pushing ourselves.
We tried to put a Summer Team Camp survey on the athlete's groupme, but it didn't work. HERE is the link. We need a decent count right now so that we can get the camp approved through the District and get everything reserved and organized. This will be a great opportunity for our young team as we start a new Team Camp tradition. We hope many of you can and will come.
Mileage Teams are up and can be found on the link on the Coaches Contact page above. See which coach you need to report to each week and do this as soon as you can after your last run of the week every week. A screen shot of your Strava weekly mileage and a brief explanation is appropriate to email the coach. Please get your first week reported ASAP, you haven't done so. If you are not on the roster that means you haven't either paid and turned in your permission form, or come to practice yet, or both. Please take care of this ASAP so we have an updated roster.
Make sure you are logging your mileage every day. If you haven't created an account on Strava and/or made it private please do so. If you need to clean up your Strava because you have unneeded followers please do so. Make sure you get in the Mountain Ridge XC club, so that we can all follow each other and support each other. If you are an athlete and haven't been added to the groupme, then have someone on the team that is in the groupme add you.
If you have friends still wanting to come out, tell them to hurry and start now. Refer them to the previous post for how to sign up. If you haven't signed up and turned in your permission slip for whatever reason get it done, so we can have you at practice and start counting your mileage.

We would highly encourage you all to start running road races this summer when you get a chance, 5ks and even 10ks are great, no half marathons. Get on Utah Running or Runnercard or just search for races in different areas. Most towns will do a 5k or some race with their celebrations.
