We would like to reiterate the importance of being at practice! Those who have been committed and coming regularly are seeing the positive results. Some of you are finding a lot of reasons to not show up daily, even when you are at home, and this will never pay off and only gets you behind or sometimes injured. We try to be very flexible with summer practices, especially compared to other fall sports or even other school XC teams, so that you can have family time and vacations, etc. However, some tend to take advantage of this flexibility and are not committed enough, and you are starting to find yourself behind already. Make practices and your training a priority. Also, make any team challenges a priority. Your training and participation is a lot bigger than you, it benefits the entire team and program. Be committed and be a contributor to the good of the team. This starts with your commitment, attitude, and communication.
We have only had 40 athletes respond about XC Camp and there are over 65 on the roster, so please respond to the survey if you haven't yet. Camp will be July 29-31. HERE is the link
Those going to camp, we will have itineraries out at practice this week. Right now there are 27 of you and last year we took 35, so we still have a couples spots we could get some of you in, if you want. Paperwork for camp, that needs to be given to Coach Barnes, will be given out at practice later this week or beginning of next, and links will be sent on the camp groupme. We have to have final camp numbers by the end of this week. We would highly recommend all of you going to camp, if you are able!
