State Championships and JV State

State Championships will be held on Tuesday this week at Salt Lake Regional Sports Complex (2280 N. Rose Park Lane).

Our Girls will race at 3:30 p.m. and our Boys at 4:30 p.m..

The bus will leave the HS at 1:00 p.m..  Remember, that the priority is to come and support our competing varsity runners, not just to socialize. Coach Barnes will cover your entrance fees. Please come ready to cheer and wear your Sentinel gear.  It should be nice fall weather, but dress appropriately.

Spectator info will be posted at the bottom of this post.

We will have a team dinner on Monday for State participants and the entire team at 5:00 p.m., (5076 W. Leila Lane).

There is a JV State Championship that is being held on Saturday October 28th at the Spanish Fork Sports Complex.  If those  alternates and others who have been training would like to run at this let Coach Barnes know by Monday, if you haven't already,  so he can get registration and entry fees taken care of.  We will not be taking a bus, so transportation is on your own.

Tentative schedule

We are planning on doing an end of season banquet on Wednesday November 15, at 7:00 p.m., so save the date.

Parking Pass Purchase and Entry for Fans:

Spectators will be charged for parking to enter the venue. Fans will not be able to enter the venue without parking the facility. Vehicles with two-or-less individuals inside the car will be charged $10; vehicles with three-or-more individuals will be charged $20. RV’s and other oversize vehicles will be charged at $40, due to the use of multiple parking spots. Vehicles will be issued wristbands at the entrance gates for the corresponding numbers of individuals inside the vehicle. Parking passes can be purchased on the UHSAA GoFan online ticket portal at https://gofan.co/app/school/UHSAA or purchased at the gate. A convenience credit card fee will be charged as part of the purchase. There will be no cash option for purchase. It is advised for everyone to prepurchase parking passes to allow for faster parking and entrance into the facility.

Individuals who hold UHSAA Annual Passes will show the pass at the parking lot entry gate to receive wristbands for them and another individual.

Patrons and teams are encouraged to leave after their respective awards ceremonies to allow more parking for patrons and team busses. There will be a parking attendant at the exit gate to ensure people do not enter the facility through an alternate route.

Schools who are planning on bringing student support busses will drop off students in the team parking entry and will be charged $5 per student who enters through the gate. UHSAA personnel will provide entry wristbands for these individuals.

"Assistance to Competitors
Coaches, please educate the members of your team, their parents and others that will come to support your student athletes that per rule 9-7-4 it is a disqualification for a competitor who receives any assistance from another person. The most common form of the violation of this rule is when a non-competitor runs along side a competitor during the race (pacing). This has been a problem in the past. It would be unfortunate to have to
disqualify a runner for the actions of someone not in the race. Please help by informing those who will be there to support your team. Also, any runner who assists another runner will also be disqualified."
