State Prep and October 17-22

The Divisionals were a bit crazy, but we ended up getting both Girls and Boys teams qualified for State.  Our Girl's team lost a tie breaker for the win to Corner Canyon in the 6A B race and our Boys were 9th in the 6A A race and picked up the last spot. Our thoughts our with Ethan, who broke his femur bone in the last 300 meters of the race and ended up in surgery that night. We wish him as speedy of a recovery as possible!  Both teams will compete at State on Tuesday October 25 at Rose Park Sports Complex.  Girls race at 10:30am and Boys at 11:30am.

Note that we will run the best and most committed runners at the time at State next week, regardless of who might have competed at Region or Divisionals!  

Thanks to the Callahan, Winterton, Horsley, and Belcher families for putting on our team dinner last Monday. Thanks to the parents who brought after race treats for the athletes on Tuesday at the Divisional Championships.  Thanks to the athletes, parents, and administrators who came to support .  

Fall Break is coming up next this week and so is the end of the quarter, but State is also next week.  Make sure your grades are in order so you are not missing practice time to take care of school work that should be taken care of during school time.  

We would like to take most of the team, (those who have been coming to practice still), to State on Tuesday next week.  If you are going out of town that fine, but we need to support those running at State, so if you are in town please come and support and cheer.  We will take one bus.

JV State will be at the Spanish Fork Sports Complex on Saturday October 29 for those runner who do not compete at State.  Let Coach Barnes know if you want to run at that race.  We will not take a bus.

We will be going to Foot Locker (Champs Sports) Western Regionals in California December 1-4.  We had enough athletes that said they can go that the trip is on.  Details will follow soon.
